Zelda Classic stuff

you are off to a great start in the Mario topic you need to post in this one aswell drewby but remmeber this ones Zelda

OK this is a topic for a game called Zelda Classic, you can download most of the game files from Shardstorm.com the game allows you to alter the graphics if you are good at that, you can make quests or play quests made by other people I am still learning it so I don't really know it yet.

ok if you are new to the program i can give you a few tips, beta 1200 is good if you want to insert custom things like the ability for link to press the a button when he wants to talk to a person, and if you use 2.10 then you would link all rooms to screen 80.

to select a tile you click on it on the right side of your screen, right click on the tile to change the type or which one it is.

OK so if you want to make a game using the original Zelda classic tileset instead of the newer enhanced ones there is one thing that you MUST know, and that is how to have link go to a room like to get the sword.

ok you make a screen, then you set the room type to special item, the item is anything you want it to be, I am making it a sword.

then you make a cave you can make a wall then set the black walk down tile on the cave you must set the tile combo to cave walk down or just cave or it will not work you can also press F10.

so let me simplify this you have the cave tile, the tile when you right click on it it will say something like cave, cave A if you are using a beta version you have the room type set to special item.

the item is a sword, if you want the guy you press the G button or click on screen then scroll down until you see the word Guy, then you click on it that will open a screen that gives you a list of characters to select, I am selecting Abei.

he is the old man that gives link the sword in the original Zelda. now to set the string for the screen go up at the top and click Quest then click Strings and then click new.

now you just type it in, but when that is done you have to set the string. to do this you click Screen then message String and then click on the one that you made, now you have to make sure that you set all this stuff on your current screen. and this tutorial is for 2.10 or lower and you go press F10 and set the tile warp to screen 80. and this is the conclusion of how to make an item room
